about array skin therapy
Being skin-confident means putting your best self forward and enjoying the things you love. That’s the reason we exist.

How we do light treatment

Receiving light treatment used to require you to make an appointment at a major hospital center, or dermatology office, pay to park, and sit in a busy waiting room. All for a quick treatment.

At Array we understand that for any treatment to work, it has to fit the lifestyle of those receiving it. That’s why we have designed every aspect of our practice with your day in mind. Our offices are centrally located in the community, making it convenient for you to receive treatment next to where you get your coffee or a haircut. Parking is always free.

Light therapy is our area of expertise, so receiving treatment at Array is efficient. Our patients are often back to their day within fifteen minutes.

But light therapy is also our passion, and we love to talk about it. Our licensed nurses and nurse practitioners are happy to chat with you about your treatment goals and progress at any time. They are also always available to answer questions or address a concern.

Our equipment

Array licensed medical professionals treat patients with safe and effective narrowband UVB (NBUVB) light. NBUVB is defined as the range from 308 to 312 nanometers, identified as the optimal wavelengths for treating autoimmune skin conditions. One could spend an hour in the sun and still not receive the therapeutic rays that in-office light therapy delivers in one quick treatment.

Our advanced, FDA-approved equipment is supported by extensive medical research and has proven to be the most effective UV light treatment available. Each treatment plan is custom to the patient and developed to meet their unique needs. We offer three types of treatment options that can be used together, as needed:

  • Full body booth for larger surface areas
  • Excimer laser for targeted treatment
  • Hand & foot unit

We believe that in-office phototherapy, supervised and delivered by licensed medical professionals in a clinical setting, is the safest, most effective form of phototherapy. Therefore, we do not sell or prescribe self-administered home phototherapy devices.

How we got here

Kristen Miller is the co-founder, Clinical Director and CEO of Array, which was founded in 2011. After caring for patients with chronic autoimmune disorders for over 20 years, Kristen became passionate about phototherapy due to the overwhelming improvement she witnessed in her patients skin appearance and quality of life. With light treatment, she saw her patients become happier, healthier people.

Kristen grew inspired to remove barriers to light therapy in order to offer treatment to more people suffering with inflammatory skin conditions. In 2011, Kristen launched a new light therapy model, built on convenience, empathy and individualized care. Kristen now leads a dynamic team of more than 30 like-minded staff members in five clinics throughout southern California.
